Cosafe Maid Cafe LLP

Saturday, August 11, 2007
Since Hui Ning asked about the Cosafe, I decided to do abit of blogging on it. Please note that this is not an advert or anything.

The piano and the maid stand.

Cosafe itself is situated inside CHIJMES, at 30th Victoria Street.

When my friends and I went, it was right after NDP parade and everyone was rushing home, so the whole place was quite empty. The shop itself is quite small, with three sets of table sitting four people each. Luckily, we got the one with the sofa. The courtyard area is abit bigger, about the size of a standard lecture room in SP.

No picture of the menu, but most of the dishes there are the "fusion" type, not exactly Japanese, nor is it Western. The following are what we ordered.

Half Roast Chicken @ $20.80

The chicken was okie, not too bad. But the price is quite steep, considering that the chicken isn't damn big. Though they had some sweet sourish nice sauce underneath the chicken with my favourite CHERRY tomato!! SO.. 7/10

Curry Rice (Topping with Chicken) @ $15.80 for the Curry Rice, $3.00 for Chicken, $5.00 for Prawn. (One more topping at $4.00, but I forgot what it was)

I kapok my friend's curry rice with chicken, though I kinda regretted it abit. Abit too much em, sogginess? A tad less curry would be nice. Though I think the curry rice at the eatery at Meidi-ya, Liang Court is better. 6/10

Fish and Chips @ $16.80

The picture doesn't do justice to its size. Quite big fish. And the chips is abit more like a cross of wedges and fries. Better than the Western F&C at SP FC1, but not by much. 7/10

We all bought their A&W Rootbeer Float, which the waitress said was their bestseller drink. $5.80 each.

This was the booth where we sat, only one in the whole Cafe. Seats four. The rest are regular table-chair combinations.

Our "maid" for the evening. Very pleasant, polite and friendly, and quite servile.

Other Comments

I think that the maids weren't the cutest there, there was another lady there much more better looking. She looked like an employer though.

We only got the attention we got because the place wasn't filled with people. Not sure it was because of NDP or not, but there were only two maids.

If you sit the place we sat, the guys might get turned off, because lao auntie and banglah pop out and show face from the kitchen.

Oh, and one advice for the guys. Don't go there on a date or if your girlfriend is the jealous type.

Nearly forget to mention that there is a 10% svc charge. Total cost for a meal for 4 guys? $110.45

Overall

This is a good place to go for the atmosphere. The food isn't bad, though not for food lovers. Portions are enough for anyone who eats less than me, other than the curry rice, I think. But I got full because the waitress kept refilling my water. >,<
